SIRV Visa

The Special Investors Resident Visa (SIRV) is an investors visa offered by the Filipino government. It allows the holder to come-and-go as they please, remain in the country indefinitely, open bank accounts, and engage in various investments within the country so long as certain conditions are met. From the Philippines Bureau of Immigration website, “The SIRV is a program of the government in attracting foreign investments into the Philippines. The program requires investors to remit at least US$75,000 into the country and invest subject capital in viable economic activities pursuant to Book V of the Omnibus Investments Code (Executive Order No. 226, as amended).”

Digital Nomad Visa

In June, 2025, the Filipino government approved this new visa program to offer a similar option to other Southeast Asian nations. Complete information hasn’t been published yet for this visa type yet. The requirements will be similar to other Digital Nomad Visa programs:

The visa would be valid for 12 months and could be extended an additional twelve months.

I-Card / Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR)

If a foreigner stays in the Philippines long enough, has an employment visa, is married to a Filipino citizen, wants to open a bank account, or engage in certain other activities, an I-Card / ACR must be obtained from the Bureau of Immigration. It serves as proof of identity and immigration status. It’s valid as long as your visa is valid. The card is color coded (green, blue, yellow, red) depending on your visa status and reason for obtaining the card.
